Gas Check Maker – One Stage Operation. Want one? Read this

Make your own homemade Checks!!!

So, I’m very excited about these check makers as you can tell. Our fellow caster and great friend of mine Dima Prok has offered to folks here on TRN the Cast Boolit’s single stage Check Maker (Details and Schematic Here). Those who want to be self-sufficient and make your own gas checks, and are tired of unnecessary cost for our cast lead projectiles, here’s your opportunity to grab one that works great! The die is conveniently sized to accept a small catch bottle, such as a 5-Hour Energy drink bottle, for those who are using a standard reloading press right-side up. If you’re creative and daring, try mounting a single stage upside down. It works wonders for sizing boolits as well. I learned this innovation from CharlieBrassStuffer, a man who thinks outside the box. Sizing Cast Boolits Upsidedown

Small disclaimer…

This Check Maker is offered as a public DIY. The schematic is posted on the Cast Boolits Forum (link above), and offered to machine hobbyists who want to tackle this small project. Patent and copyright laws are not violated as those who are interested in obtaining one are basically paying for labor services and material to make one per the public domain schematic.

How to order and purchase:

Per Dima’s request, he is currently taking orders via email. Please contact him by entering your information in this form.  Include details in what caliber you are interested in and so forth. Y’all know the basics. ENJOY! and Happy Reloading!

Do your bullets have a gas check shank, or are they plain based?
Will your bullets be lubricated with powder coat, Hi-Tek, or with a more traditional lube?

Just inquired about one for .357 plain bass boolits. May also get a 30 caliber shank bass model once I use up the grossly overpriced ones I have.

I have Dima’s fine gas check maker, have made hundreds of gas checks using aluminum roofing flashing at .011″ thick but find I can make even nicer and cheaper gas checks using ‘recycled’ soda, energy drink and beer cans. Just cut ’em up into sheets with heavy duty scissors or metal shears. I can get about 80+ per soda can.

Well unfortunately the bloat advertising and poor layout is obscuring the small button uptop that says “show more” click on that and fill out the form.

ok guys, here goes. i’ve got several rifles that enjoy the ideal/lyman 311329 185gr GC spire point, however the only checks i can get to work well are NOS ideal or the rare to find hornady copper checks. i purchased new a freechexIII and it has issues that include but not limited to the checks falling off the shank of the boolit after sizing. the pat marlin check maker i’d borrowed while the checks stayed on it’sa multi stage rig and i still have a can of discs that are a PIA to pick one at a time. i’m liking… Read more »

Hey Eagle Eye, thank you for all the support and intro! I really appreciate it. I am new here at reloaders network so please excuse me if I post this in the wrong section. People can contact me for the current price. I can also make them for non GC bullets but first I need to make and test one and send one to Eagle Eye so he can test it too as well.
