Reloading 7.62X25mm Tokarev with 90gr. Hornady XTP and W296 part 2
Reloading for the Yugo M57 Tokarev 7.62X25mm with Hornady 90gr. XTP and W296 part 2
The Yugoslavian model 57 was a licensed copy of the Russian Tokarev TT pistol. The main difference is the Yugo model 57 has a longer grip and incorporates a 9 round magazine. The Tokarev is a single action, short recoil operated Browning type action with swinging link. Due to BATFE regulations, a manual safety was fitted to surplus pistols before importation. Zastava Arms, in modern-day Serbia, still manufactures the model 57 as well as the model M70A in 9mm. Fortunately, these pistols are still readily available and can be found for around 200 dollars. If you like the 1911 design and want a high velocity pistol cartridge, then take a look at the Tokarev.
