I have had nothing but problems with my 605. The crane screw fell out and I lost the spring and plunger. The crane just falls out. I did a video on it. It seems to be working good now but the cylinder is really loose. I don’t want to send it back because it takes half a lifetime to get it back. Folks are blasting Taurus for bad quality lately but Smith has had their own warts lately.
Its a darn shame.
I have a model ten from the mid 70’s and never an issue.
Times, they are a changin…..sadly.

Did you use Taurus parts or Smith and Wesson? In the old days, Taurus was mostly Smith. Now, I understand they have “grown into their own” parts and supply.

I wish I saw this before shipping my Taurus revolver back to the factory on my dime. Now waiting 12 weeks for a return. Where did you get the parts? My experience is Taurus doesn’t supply parts and smiths won’t touch them. Personally it is the first Taurus I’ve owned, and the last.
