It is actually rather ingenious. Not unlike our caliber conversion kits to shoot .22LR in .223 rifles, albeit without the pretty machining, but functional.

Some of the work on it is very crude, and some of it is remarkably slick. The fit of the cartridge is almost water tight.

Yes, and the workmanship on the fit is tight enough that no one I have shown it to has been able to tell that there are two pieces of brass involved.

The title had me thinking the Russians had sent the Spanish Inquisition to get LOB. Once he was captured they would purchase the Pork Belly futures and corner the market. Once in control of the Market they would short it. With all of this Bacon Control LOB would crack and tell them how to make cast booolits.
