Shooting 1 Mile! 20+ MPH Wind – 6.5 Creedmoor – Savage 110 Tactical – Long Range

Shooting 1 Mile In The Wind…

After previously ranging out 1 mile with my neighbor’s DJI Drone Maverick Pro. (5338′) I set forth in very windy conditions in attempt to hit a milk jug at 1 Mile (1760 yards). I need to get one of those drones. The footage was amazing, and having 19 satellites locked on, distance measured is accurate within a couple of feet.

I have a Diamond Back, unfortunately all parts are proprietary to this Lower. I cant change barrels and it has a 20″ on it now. Would like a longer one but I’m stuck with this one. Time will tell how far I will be able to shoot, hopefully a mile is in my future 🙂
I’m encouraged your trying with the Creedmoor. My rifle however is auto-feed !

I shoot that distance all the time with my 38 Snub Nose revolver pushing 148 grain Wad cutters with Trail Boss in Hurricane Winds…

Excellent job. Playing with different primers is a great way to fine tune loads. I do it myself with the 224 Valkyrie. I have a feeling next time you give that challenge a try (less the wind) you will be smacking the milk jug instead of scaring it off the post 😉 Agree with Charlie that I always enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work. Like I said on YT, I want to see some warmer weather so I can get to the range with out freezing my bullets off.

Incredible shooting, man! The total spread on those impacts was ridiculously tiny. I need to practice.

Really great Ken, your vids have me talking to the screen, urging you on! …you do realize that you can keep an entire company pinned down with that accuracy alone? I searched for a 30 or 40 MOA scope rail/mount but to no avail? I’d bet there’s one out there. What overall elevation adjustment does that scope have available, top to bottom? You were robbed, I think for about 3 hits, hard to tell in the camera angle…but, the wind gotchYa. I can’t see you stopping at a mile when you bust that jug here… Think about a greater MOA… Read more »

Amazon sells a UTG 1/2″ riser with 20 MOA, $25.
I have 2 stacked on my Creedmoor to see the target at 2,200.

I bought one of those, too. It’s a smart concept.

That’s a good riser, I have it for my 6.5 Grendel with a 28″ barrel !
