Good idea. My only concern about the coating would be abrasion tolerance with repeated opening and closing of the sprue plate against the mold surface. It looks like the sprues drop right out, but teflon can sometimes be sensitive to repeated operations.
Keep testing this and keep us updated.

I think I would be allot more interested in seeing the pins Teflon coated. Sprue plates have been pretty much trouble free for me as a new caster. The pins on the other hand, can be a little or allot of trouble for me. I have only done 3 casting sessions but the Bain of my casting has been the pins. I am running the 460 396 RF AE2 RG 4 gc in brass. Which is a beast and is definitely above my skill level.
