ZHH, I’m looking to build a bolt action upper that I can quickly swap barrels between a few calibers. I’d like to keep the same bolt between the short range and long range calibers I’m planning on using. I hear the 22 Nosler brass is not as much of an issue now as it was when it launched. For a bolt action upper for staying super sonic out to 1000+ yards, would you recommend going with a 80-90 grain in a 24″ 223 Wylde 1:7, a 70-85 grain 24″ 22 Nosler 1:8 or trying to see if I can get… Read more »

Thanks for the feedback! I’m kinda leaning to the 22N right now, but I haven’t ruled out the .223 W single loading (depending on cost and availability; long range is secondary feature of this build). if I went .224 V, I’d wildcat it with 22N brass to use the standard AR Bolt, but the wildcat and questionable usage of the heavy bullets leave me leaning more to the 22N as it can get out to the 1K mark with 77’s better than the V can.
