Hey Bacon, was watching this video again. The first time was watching the catcher, the second time noticed a fair amount of smoke , almost like it was black powder You were shooting !

Looks like it’s time to get a new brass catcher! Works better than my Caldwell.

There are other spare pic rail mounts to get, it’s just whether there all inter-changeable ?
Thanks bacon for the review, I wish someone could find out which rail mounts fit what catchers !
XAEGIS – Caldwell – GLORYFIRE They all have baskets and rail mounts.

I have a couple of the velcro around the handguard type. I have been very dissatisfied with them; this looks much better.

That is the best mount I’ve seen in a brass catcher. Definitely would be a plus to have more than one picatinny mount as a option. Thanks for the review LOB

I got one too and it works well. Worth the $20.

Run hotter (temp wise) rounds through it to see how the webbing holds up over time. .223 sure seems to melt it faster than 300 BO.

My Caldwell continues to fall off my rifle and has no where near the adjustability as this one. Thank you for the video. I’m going to sell my Caldwell and get this catcher.

A replacement pic rail adapter from Gloryfire will hold much better. They look identical, but the retention balls have stronger springs behind them. The adapter is ~$12, but the whole catcher is ~$20 on Amazon. Very similar to the Caldwell, but has a different webbing, a better rail adapter, and a spot for a patch on top.

I would say that this is comparable to the Caldwell in construction, but the adjustability gives this a leg up. I have a Caldwell for my AR .223/5.56 upper, and a Tac Star for my 6.5 Grendel upper. Both seem to work well, but maybe I’ll get one to replace my old Caldwell catcher. Thanks for the review.

I love my brass catcher. It’s a cheap Caldwell that my wife bought me for Christmas last year. She didn’t get the one that goes on the rail. She bought me the one that straps around the handguard. I wish it was the other but she bought it for me so when she is around it’s the best one in the world. It’s nice not to bend over for a month to pick them up from everyone else’s brass. No one polices thier brass. Most the time I take it all even if I don’t shoot that caliber. I will… Read more »
