(This video was first posted to YouTube on June 30, 2017.)

Shooting the 44 Special cast with the penta hollow point, 1:25 alloy with a BHN of 8.7 into Clear Ballistics Gel from my S&W 29 with a 6.5″ barrel. This series is a long experiment testing powder coated cast lead hollow point bullets made from various alloys and fired at various velocities.

I think I’ve seen this before, but that is near perfection! I just love that hollow point design. I’ve never cast hollow points. I know it’s more difficult, but I still want to try it.

Thanks LOB, your work with these penta hollow points is really valuable to the community. The hollow point with the powder coat makes this design a solid self defense option for the self reliant folk. I want to get into casting hollow points one of these days.

Not only do they work good , but they look good to so what ever you shoot with them should be proud to be shot with such a pretty bullet ! 👍😁😂😂😂

Every test you do with binary metal convinces me that the ole 1 BHN : 100 FPS rule of thumb is right in the middle of the window.

1BHN for 100 fps, I need to write that one down. 😉

An observation made about binary metal and pistol revolver pressures. Rifles are a bit different consideration.
