I’m glad you reiterated why you had short interrupters. In my mind I was already thinking “Why not full length?”, then you answered it.
I am curious how you separate your steel pins. I have a Frankford Arsenal vibratory polisher kit, and use the bucket filled with clean water and the separator ball partially submerged and keep cranking until all the pins fall through the ball and into the bucket; but I’m always looking for a better way.
