Good video. Always good to be reminded how dangerous a high-powered rifle is. I’d probably give the edge to the short action 6.5 but I don’t think you could really go wrong with either. The Swedes and Finns have dropped moose with 6.5×55 Swedish for years. This should do great on a caribou. I love all of you and John Fazer’s videos from up in Alaska. Congratulations to you and your wife on having one on the way!

What is the before firing weight of the two cartridges as I would think if your having to pack pack in and out of hunting you would want the lighter in weight rounds and gun so that you can pack out more meat

If it were my testing…I’d put a package of ribs on each side of the gel block, throw that board in the fire and try to catch my bullet in a tight stack of rags so as to do the least amount of damage to the bullet after it has passed through the simulated animal. Then I’d try to determine how much weight it retained and how well it stayed together.
I’d hunt with my .308W.
