WCChapin | “3D” .223 – Printed Bullet Feed Die on a LEE Load-Master

Loading .223 Remington cartridges on one of my LEE Load-Master progressive presses. This setup for my .223 “House” ammunition includes a handful of 3D printed accessories – A collator tube clamp, a taller case pusher, a case feeder spacer, and a bullet feed die.

The bullet feeder die design was downloaded from Eagle Eye Shooting / DPGunworks website – there was no license information included on the site or in the download. The feeder die appears to be remixed from a design by Icerise – I have included the license below to place credit where credit *may* be due – I am not certain.

The press also has my homebrew powder check die and the turret was bored on the lathe for an inexpensive LED flashlight.

Press station setup:
1. LEE Short Charging Die / LEE Auto-Drum Powder Measure
2. Powder Check Die (wood dowel inside a LEE Universal Decapping Die)
3. 3D Printed Bullet Feed Die / Carbon arrow shaft bullet feed tube
4. LEE Easy Adjust Dead Length Bullet Seater Die
5. LEE Factory Crimp Die

Mixed brass prepped off-press. Lubed/Sized/Trimmed on a LEE 3 Hole Value Turret Press, Mouth Belled/Primed on a Dillon 550.

Hornady 55 grain FMJ Seated to cannelure/Remington #6 1/2 Primer/23.0 grains IMR 3031

Parts 3D printed on my Ender 3 Pro/Raspberry Pi 3+/OctoPrint/Cura – pretty standard basic hobbyist setup.

👍👍 Thats awesome! Really cool to see it work for others. I actually cad drawn that whole thing. Took a few models to get it just right. But ya basically took the 5/32 detent ball and basic idea from Icercise and others and just went with it. If their are other calibers you want. Let me know, I can easily change the inner diameters on my F3D file as I set it up as a function input
Files can now be downloaded from ThingiVerse. Just made an account:

Im working on a 1890 schmidt and Rubin, ill start on the die for that. Probably will have to extend the die for 3006, but I can make two inner tubes to accommodate the two cartridge lengths and work with cartridges between 308 and 3006. Any other improvements? Should have thought of that .176 BB… makes sense LOL. Also I think the 6.5 Creedmoor version will work the with swede? Any other improvements, I’m all ears. Those thingiverse links will work by tommorow. They have a 24hr hold on new accounts. Ive uploaded the remix I made on the 9mm… Read more »
