Testing Reloads for the Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Magnum

Just doing some reloading in 44 Magnum. I have been testing the Lee 200gr RF powder coating bullet with 800X in my Ruger Blackhawk. I am trying to find a good load for fun shooting. In this video, I shoot the high end load and get a few good fireballs. Thanks for watching.

So many people want to see how fast they can load up a bucket of ammo. I find my reloading time to be therapeutic and relaxing. This is a hobby, not a race.
That 800X looks like a good powder. I might have to look into it. Good show.

Ever since I seen Dirty Harry, I’ve wanted a 44 Magnum. Then I got a super Blackhawk and finally had one! But the cylinder pin would not stay in under recoil, and made for a dangerous situation.
One day, I’ll get another 44mag revolver, and hopefully it will not be a lemon.

Good luck with yours!

I got me a 4″ 629. The size called for in the script. The bigger guns is what they could get from S&W.

I liked that 6 inch barrel a lot!

Yeah the classic 6.5 was very sweet and the 8 3/8 they got into a few scenes was sick! Useless for a cop but cool.

The 8 3/8″ 686 is a bit too long for offhand shots, it wobbled a bit too much, I think the shorter barrel would be a lot better for hunting. Although, I do have some shooting sticks that worked well for holding it steady.
My Ruger was an 8 inch barrel.

The long one is traditionally supported on most shots, but slows greater velocity and potentially accuracy from longer sight radius.
