Smith and Wesson is of course known for the 44 Magnum. Dirty Harry is said to have made the 44 Magnum the success it is today, even though he used a 41 Magnum in the movie. Sorry for the spoiler. This 629-4 is 1 in 500 made, Slab sided barrel, magna port, integrated scope rail […]
300 Blackout Subsonic Sig 7.62QD Suppressor
This is simply a collectors item for me because of the sentimental value and beautiful work by Turnbull.
I got a package from Loads of Bacon of his world renown coated and bacon lubed bullets. Normally I load my medium velocity 357 Magnum rounds with HS-6. Just upon completing some 10MM testing with BE-86 and like the performance and velocity I was seeing with it I decided to use BE-86 in 357 Magnum.
This is Episode #2 in the 300Blkout Journey Testing. Unfortunately in this test I ended up destroying a GoPro Hero4 UGH. I was testing with my friend’s MCX SBR and suppressor. This is a nice balanced setup for up close and personal work. He had to wait almost 15 months for the US Government to […]
Today we are testing the preferred 45ACP ammunition of the local law enforcement community. Federal Premium 45ACP HST 230gr ammunition. This test provides valuable information, chronograph data, accuracy data, penetration and expansion data.
Penetration, expansion and velocity test of the Underwood Ammo 10mm 150gr grain Nosler JHP using Clear Ballistics Gelatin. 10MM is often thought of as a hunting cartridge only. I was looking for a self defense round in 10MM that would not over penetrate and yet have great expansion. Advertised velocity of this ammunition on the […]
When mother nature dares you to go to the range...
For you revolver fanatics and for those that asked for a revolver comparison of 357 Magnum and 10MM, well you got it. S&W 686 7Shot Unfluted Cylinder, 7inch Barrel S&W 610 Classic 6Shot Unfluted Cylinder, 6inch Barrel Surprise Ending - Watching it all the way through most of you will be interested in the additional comparison I added in. Nope I am not telling --- you have to watch.
After making the first video, 45 Colt Old But Still Useful with the 45 Colt Buffalo Bore 225gr Anti Personnel round, I received a couple of emails asking if the full wad cutter of the Buffalo Bore would feed in a carbine/lever action. I decided this would make for good content. If I could get […]
45 ACP Cutting Holes Like A Wadcutter Fellas I thought you would appreciate the below for us avid reloaders. During a 1997 big game hunting trip Col. Cooper and Lauck discussed creating something better as an all-around load and bullet for the .45 ACP 1911 pistol. Both Col. Cooper and Lauck recognized the issues of […]
S&W 547 9mm Revolver Produced 1980 – 1985 A little over 10,000 were produced in two different models. This is the round butt variant of which about 6486 were made, making the 4-inch barrel square butt model even more sparse. It is rumored this was produced for the Palestinian and possibly the French police force. […]

Get Out and Practice Charlie and James remind us we need to get out and challenge ourselves to remain proficient in defensive encounters. Mr.Revolverguy Sacrilege Not only am I trying the challenge with a semi auto, it is a 1911 chambered in 9mm. What have I done? Semi auto, 1911 chambered in 9mm, oh my, […]
Mission I recently took on a mission to create The Ultimate Defense Revolver capable of solving any personal defense encounter in North America. A great foundation for me to build upon was the S&W 629 Snubbie 44 Magnum from the Performance Center. Upgrade In evaluating this revolver I felt the only thing that really needed […]
Watching the Alaskan Ballistics video of Underwood 10MM ammo testing in all semi autos struck a nerve and I had to break out the revolvers. Will the Underwood provide us with 700ft pounds of energy as advertised? How will the revolvers compare in Clear Ballistics Gel to the Glocks of Alaskan Ballistics in ribs and wet paper medium?
Is the young contender Kimber K6S capable of dethroning the old champ S&W model 64?
I decided to go ahead and do a quick overview of the new Frankford Arsenal IntelliDropper. I only published this because a few friends asked me for the video. I did not do a complete review demonstrating every single feature, I am exchanging emails with Frankford Arsenal asking if the drifting that I am seeing […]
Potent Hog Medicine? Is 357 Magnum 158gr at 1248fps from a 6inch barrel and 1489fps from a 16in barrel, leveraction at 75 yards or under potent hog medicine? Leave a comment and tell me what you think. Thanks Loads of Bacon for bullets. Dayattherange.com mr.revolverguy
Are you putting yourself or your family at risk by carrying low budget 9mm ammunition? I went on a search for the most economical 9mm I could find locally. I know there may be better prices online but I wanted to see what local shops may be stocking. I would eventually come across a box […]
The Beginnings The M1A was designed by Elmer C. Ballance of the Springfield Armory Inc. in 1974. The AR-10 rifle was developed by Eugene Stoner in 1955 and was manufactured by ArmaLite. That’s right, the AR-10 is older than the M1A, you read it right. Confused yet? The M1A is the civilianized version of the […]
You know you have the perfect wife and the best mother for your children when she wakes up in the morning and says, “I need to go to the range today.” I thought, it’s mothers day weekend, sure you don’t want to do something different, and expressed this to her. “Nope,” she says, “I want […]
M1A Scope Mounting and Zero Most of the family here at The Reloaders Network know how difficult it is to mount a scope on an M1A and get it to stay locked in place. Well, I am testing my luck and skill. I used a Springfield Armory mount and followed the instructions exactly. It is […]
This Ruger Alaskan has been modified by a qualified gunsmith that machined my cylinder for moon clips. This Ruger Alaskan is capable of firing 45ACP, 45Super, 45Schofield, 45Colt, 454Casull. Accuracy is great as long as I do my part with all rounds. Though it does show very low velocity with factory 45ACP and […]
