Reloading some match 6mm Creedmoor for my Uintah Precision UPR10 Rifle. Some quick overviews of the tools I use to reload 6mm Creedmoor. I use Redding dies, K&M neck expanding mandrel. West Desert ShooterMy channel’s main focus is long range shooting and rifle reloading. I got my start on YouTube late 2016 and have been […]
Whether you are looking for a competitive tactical shooting scope or something to take on a sheep hunt, its superior clarity, excellent turret tracking and lean overall weight make this optic hard to pass up.
For this trip I’m testing out my new Ivey Adjustable scope base available in MILs or MOA it makes extreme long range shots possible with the ability to add tons of elevation to the optic.
Welcome to the Muzzle Blast Podcast Ep. 4 where I sit down with Justin Crosby. Justin is an accomplished F-Class shooter and multi time national competitor placing well in the nation. I pick his brain about what he looks for in optics, what he believes makes the biggest difference in accuracy and how to read the wind.
I go over the details of this custom rifle made for PRS style and long-range competitive shooting. The rifle was built by Preferred Barrels and equipped with a Tikka T3 prefit with a taperless 900 contour, custom fluted, and cerakoted.
This is what the Tikka T3x 7mm SAUM was built for! Going further than every other tool in my safe. This trip was the entire drive behind the build and the choice of each component to carefully curate a 2,000 yard capable rig, the Vasara! (Means Hammer in Finnish where Tikka is manufactured) I have been chomping at the bit for more than a year to attempt this feat and bring you guys this video. I’m glad to share my results and bring you along the journey! Can’t wait for the next goal to crush!
Man what a great day out! The desert is green! 60° and sunny with virtually no wind. We brought some hammers and went to work on the steel at a mile!
From the first rounds fired to 60 rounds down the tube here is the update on the 7mm SAUM Tikka T3x Custom Rifle. Velocities and group sizes mostly with H1000 and the Sierra 183 Matchking bullet.
First long range trip with the Tikka T1x 22LR and I wanted to collect some data for drops at distance. My Ballistic AE chart lined up really well compared to impacts. It was very windy which created a huge challenge this far away.
This is the Breakdown!
Covering how I am doing the initial prep on my ADG brass when it is brand new. This is for my Tikka I have converted to 7mm Short action ultra magnum.
Going through the course of fire and covering how I did across the stages. Lots of fun, this was only the third time ever using my 22 so I still have lots to learn about how wind effects it and drops at each range. This is also my first competition with positional style stages that […]
Here is the Real Avid tool kit in use making many pieces one badass little one!
This is my first rimfire rifle and I’m extremely excited to have the latest offering from Tikka. This is the T1x and it has some really cool features. It does come with a premium level cost comparable to CZ 455 level of rifles. I bought this as a trainer for my big Tikka T3x and it does not disappoint. Tons of fun and I will definitely be getting into some 22LR ELR shots in future videos! I try a few brands of ammo and check group size as well as run some rounds at the dueling tree target with the wife!
I went on a trip with my brother and set up targets at 350 and 500. This is the first time really going for groups at distance with the 95g Sierra Match King. My rifle has a 1:7 twist so I was curious how stable they would be.
This was my first opportunity to test the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 4-16 scope. This model is MOA with an EBR-2C reticle and matching MOA turrets which is exactly what you want in a scope, a reticle that matches the turrets. That makes measuring and dialing the correct adjustment easy. This is not my Review for the Vortex Diamond Back Tactical I want to try it a few more times before having a solid opinion on how I feel about it.
For this episode I sit down and Talk with Mrs. WDS about what it’s like dealing with myself and my constant Precision Rifle thinking or video making. We also talk about our families and when we got into firearms and how we feel about dogs! It’s a fun one that is very relaxed and an easy listen for all. Hope you enjoy and thanks to my wife for sharing!
I am getting regular email notifications from YouTube that my content has been reviewed and it is “Not suitable for all advertisers.” These videos that are being demonetized have a few things in common. #1 They are older videos. From my first posted gun content which was uploaded in late 2016. It seems that recently, […]
Does a Cheap Reloading Setup Last?
I get the entire Uintah Precision team rounded up for a great conversation in our room while staying at SHOT show in Las Vegas 2019. We cover the entire story of their bolt action uppers from the first phone call to what they have planned in the future. We get to know the guys a bit and learn more about what makes the team so awesome.
For the first episode I have a chat with Curt from Vaughn Precision. I met Curt through YouTube and he has helped me immensely with simple questions about reloading. In our conversation I ask him some funny questions and we get more serious about hunting, cartridge choice and precision reloading.
Here I cover some data about how my 24” 1:8 AR shot some black hills MK262 Mod1 both groups and velocities. I start the journey of getting some 75g Everglades projectiles up to similar speeds and hopes of similar accuracy. I show the initial groups along with stats and dive into what my next steps will be to create a similar performing round for my rifle to then take to long range and pit against my other AR15s for the long range Mini action shootout!
A quick update on the latest addition to the long range collection. I was fortunate enough to acquire another Uintah Precision UPR15 this time in a different AR-15 cartridge. It looks the same on the surface but it’s what’s on the inside that counts! I will be getting a muzzle brake per usual and also an additional scope. Stay tuned to see what happens with this build!
This is a review with thoughts and considerations on my 3V Gear Velox II pack. This thing is smothered in molle webbing and has many hidden features to keep it versatile and organized. A great affordable tactical backpack! Laptop pocket, hydration pouch friendly, armor plate capable. This thing is the perfect blend of quality while keeping final cost in mind. There are awesome colors available and they offer additional packs as add ons like the tech pouch, water bottle molle web and others.
