In this video we validate our accuracy node since our barrel has worn since we originally developed our load. The barrel has ~2800 rounds through it and the distance to the lands has increased by about .030".
Months of work have paid off, and the 6.5 Creedmoor Savage 12FV is ready for its ultimate challenge: landing hits at 1 mile. Today's long range challenge includes two other 6.5 Creedmoor rifles as well: The CMMG Endeavor 300 and the Savage Stealth Evolution.
In this video we test the 153gr Hornady A-TIP in the Ruger Precision Rifle and the Thompson Center compass chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Both barrels are 1-8 twist and we want to make sure that these stabilize in the rifles before formal load test begins.
In this week's video we are reviewing some of the aftermarket barrel options for Pre-fit barrels to install in our Ruger Precision Rifle. We are sticking with our 6.5 Creedmoor chambering and trying to compare the barrels based on our favorite projectiles.
Trying out Lemi Shine to clean brass. A lot of people recommend trying it.
In this video we push our velocities higher with a load test with the Hornady 147 ELD-M and Alliant Reloder 26 in 6.5 Creedmoor.
You're shooting what kind of ammo!!?? Today we talk about a few odd calibers/wildcats, why on earth you would consider buying/shooting them, and travel back in time.
In this video we use our 6.5 Creedmoor Thompson Center Compass to test with the Nosler 140 gr RDF and Alliant Reloder 26. We use Quick load software to come up with the load data used and compare our results to what Quick load predicted. We show velocity and group data at 100 yards.
In this video we perform a load test with the Hornady 147 ELD-M and Alliant Reloder 26 in 6.5 Creedmoor. We use Quick load software to come up with the load data used and compare our results to what Quick load predicted. We show velocity and group data at 100 yards. None of the Load data used in today video is from a published source. We do not recommend using any of the data. For entertainment purposes only.
Special thanks to Josh over at 243 Outdoors for this video. Not only did he allow me to shoot his rifle at 1000 yards, but gave me his hand loads to do it with, recorded the effort, edited this video and sent it to me to post. All I did was aim and squeeze the trigger. Check out Josh's channel, 243 Outdoors if you're not already subscribed. Josh is a class act in every sense of the word. Thanks again, Josh!
Chico working the Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor and T/C Compass 308 at the 1000 yard Range, at Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer, TN. This is a combination of my video and Tread's video. I think it turned out great.
Doing a little long range at Dead Zero in Spencer, TN. A Huge THANK YOU to Tread for sharing what he recorded with me.
Re-verifying a new powder charge and load for my 6.5 CM. I wanted to see how it still holds up in groups long range. This rifle has over 2.5K rounds down pipe. Though there is a significant amount of throat erosion, this rifle still drives them in there.
We took out the new swinger target last weekend to give it a test run at 1000 yards while we did our 1 mile shooting trip. We didn't spend a lot of time with the swinger but it seemed to hold up well.
Cleaning The Deck - April Fun Shoot!
Our friends Matt & Corey from out of town came down to do some shooting the other weekend. We wanted to shoot at our 1000 yard spot but we were unable to reach it due to downed trees. Targets at 500 yards 10.5″ and 4.5″ plates. This was our first time shooting rifles with a […]
Often when we have someone start talking to us about long range shooting they often say something like, “Yeah I would like to do that, but I can’t afford the rifle I would need”, or, “That sounds like an expensive hobby”, or maybe, “I don’t reload so I can’t be successful at distance.” While equipment […]
Man what a great day out! The desert is green! 60° and sunny with virtually no wind. We brought some hammers and went to work on the steel at a mile!
The newest release from Frankford Arsenal the M coaxial Press, a single stage press with a lot of unique features and very well built. Averaging around $249 at Midway and Optics Planet.
Accuracy Well Past Supersonic Velocities? Shooting 2000 yards with a cartridge designed to be accuracy effective at about 1000 or a little more is for sure pushing limits. West Desert Shooter hit me up as we both haven’t shot past 1760 yards (1 mile) yet. My first thoughts where intimidation of even trying, second if I […]
Shooting 1 Mile In The Wind… After previously ranging out 1 mile with my neighbor’s DJI Drone Maverick Pro. (5338′) I set forth in very windy conditions in attempt to hit a milk jug at 1 Mile (1760 yards). I need to get one of those drones. The footage was amazing, and having 19 satellites […]
In this video we go over the Thompson Center Compass in 6.5 Creedmoor. We do a very quick unboxing of the rifle, add our Vortex 4-12x44 and muzzle break. We show a bore scope view of the barrel, compare the factory Hornady 143 ELD-X precision Hunter box velocity to the actual velocity we achieve with its 22" barrel. We also take our match load and test to see what velocity and group size we get with it. This was a $200 rifle that we are going to test to see how accurate it can be with a very budget setup.
This was my first opportunity to test the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 4-16 scope. This model is MOA with an EBR-2C reticle and matching MOA turrets which is exactly what you want in a scope, a reticle that matches the turrets. That makes measuring and dialing the correct adjustment easy. This is not my Review for the Vortex Diamond Back Tactical I want to try it a few more times before having a solid opinion on how I feel about it.
