A complete disassembly of a Savage 10/110 Short Action bolt and bolt head swap. I’m prepping my rifle for a caliber change to 7 SAUM. Savage rifles are unique in the fact of simple upgrades and DIY gunsmithing. Barrel swaps and caliber changes can be done with minimal tools, while precision upgrades like this PTG […]

Hello to The Reloaders Network! BigE here! I thought I would try something different in my 308 target rifle. It started as a Savage 11VT that was found to be a little unsafe with the original barrel (short throat with rifling at 0.307″ would pop primers on factory loads occasionally and was almost always a […]
Short of doing a permanent change on the M54 stock, a slip on recoil pad might seem to be the simple answer to increase the length of pull. However, the roll over cheekpiece makes for a difficult modification. Here's a way to successfully accomplish this project with the Pachmyre Slip On Recoil Pad...
On our last trip to the desert we tested our new Bullseye Camera System at 1 mile (1760 yards). We wanted something to help spot misses at distance when the spotter can't see or conditions aren't conducive to spotting misses.
We took out the new swinger target last weekend to give it a test run at 1000 yards while we did our 1 mile shooting trip. We didn't spend a lot of time with the swinger but it seemed to hold up well.
BREAKING IN THE LITHGOW 101 22LR Lately DM45 and I have been on journey to master 22LR at 100 yards; when I say master, I use that word lightly. I guess it really is more about bragging rights than mastering. Both he and I started this journey with Kimber 82G’s http://www.dayattherange.com/?p=6211 Unfortunately for me, DM45, […]
This is footage from a video we posted last Summer 2018. We added a timer to show all 4 consecutive shots and hits were made in under 1 minute and 30 seconds and were Sub MOA.
This was with my Savage 112 Target .338 Lapua Magnum.
Our friends Matt & Corey from out of town came down to do some shooting the other weekend. We wanted to shoot at our 1000 yard spot but we were unable to reach it due to downed trees. Targets at 500 yards 10.5″ and 4.5″ plates. This was our first time shooting rifles with a […]
We have said it before and I will say it again. One of the hazards of teaching your kids how to shoot long range is that they might just shoot better than you. Well, after I took Mighty Mouse out and had success at 1000 yards my daughter Paige said she wanted to give it […]
Well with the load work complete and with Mighty Mouse sighted in at 100 yards it’s finally time to see if Mighty Mouse can dispatch a zombie at distance. So out to our shooting area we went. I must say I was pretty nervous once we got everything set up and it was time to […]
In this video we discuss reloading the Savage 110 BA stealth in 338 Lapua Magnum. This testing was with Hornady 285 ELD-M with Alliant Reloder 26. In this step will will develop a velocity curve to see where we want to load next time as well as ensure we are not hitting pressure in our rifle.
In this video we discuss reloading the Savage 110 BA stealth in 338 Lapua Magnum. This testing was with Hornady 230 gr ELD-X with Alliant Reloder 26. In this step will will develop a velocity curve to see where we want to load next time as well as ensure we are not hitting pressure in our rifle.
It has been a long long winter this year in Wyoming. In fact, as I am typing this post it is calling for another 6-10 inches of snow in my area over the next 24 hours. It’s April 9th and supposed to be spring!!! The snow has made it pretty much impossible to go do […]

Accuracy Well Past Supersonic Velocities? Shooting 2000 yards with a cartridge designed to be accuracy effective at about 1000 or a little more is for sure pushing limits. West Desert Shooter hit me up as we both haven’t shot past 1760 yards (1 mile) yet. My first thoughts where intimidation of even trying, second if I […]
