A great day with Chicken Hawk as we take the Norinco SKS iron sights out to 507 yards, as well as a couple of AR15s. Shooting in 20 - 25 MPH gust winds.
I decided to see how well a cast lead 110gr gas checked boolit will hold up in the accuracy department verses a FMJ Vmax 110gr load. The SKS is just a really fun rifle to shoot. Adding the cheap affordability of casting with nearly the same performance of a FMJ will make this even better! Let's see how these perform.
First, I wanted to congratulate Full.Lead.Taco for hitting the 2K milestone. This was a fun challenge though my target face looked more like a cyclops haha. I decided to make a round that not only doesn’t require electricity, it also doesn’t require any reloading tools to reload. I made my own black powder and my […]
Triple Threat! Load Development on 6.5 CM, 6×223 AR15, Cast 135gr 7.62×39 and Shooting Tracers Long Range!

“Happiness is in nature, beauty, and tranquility.” ― Debasish Mridha SELECTING A RANGE FOR SHOOTING I’m picky and can get grouchy quickly. Public or even Club ranges scare the bejeezuz out of me and the noise can be painful. My last choice for a place to shoot would be an indoor range. My son took […]
Having no firearm experience when I started to learn to shoot, I read everything I could find and watched as many YouTube videos as I could find. I learned a lot about how eclectic some firearm owners’ collections can be, and got some insight into the various categories of arms. Then I proceeded without prejudice to acquire guns in about as haphazard a way as is humanly possible.
“It’s like algebra, that’s all. I just have to figure it out, step by step.” ― Hollis Seamon, That BB gun was a challenge to begin with. I had to start closer up and slowly work my way back to 15 yards. Then I had laser eye surgery and all of a sudden I had […]
